Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) – On Saturday, the last chapter of the Buffalo sabers was put to rest and it is again a complete failure. It is an organization led by Terry Pegula who has people who make jobs that they have never done before and they are not qualified at a distance to do. It is an organization that has had a managing director who has been here for five seasons and has seen his team worsen in each of the last three seasons. Very few people in the Hockey department had qualifications to obtain the jobs they have and that includes Kevyn Adams, who had to learn at work while making mistakes. Lindy Ruff would of course be the exception of this rule.
On Saturday, Adams did not blame the failures of this team on anyone other than himself. He has not yet had his end -of -season meetings with Pegula and this will soon happen in southern Florida. Adams said,
“We will have meetings with Terry to come in the very close future where we will review everything, talk about the list and everything in the organization in hockey operations, where we can improve, on which we must concentrate and we will make any decision that we must take to help us improve.
“I believe that we should be a eliminatory team at the moment and we have failed, so it is the owner of this, it is my responsibility for that, then to pass that and to say that this is how I see us to improve and what we can do to repair it, so be very honest in the conversations with Terry to say where I think I made errors, but I think we are close.”
When Adams was asked if he was assured that he will remain the Managing Director, he has just said that he had not yet had the meetings with Pegula.
To speak with the players and to listen to Adams, it seems that this team had in the locker room who wanted to blame the others for the gaps of the team. All the season, some players would evolve that if they were going to improve, you must understand what you can do best. Adams said that this aspect of the team must improve,
“Culture is won in terms of your daily habits and what I think we must probably think and do a better job, it’s more of our players starting by looking first in the mirror and if we all do this with what I can do better and how I start building a culture of culture, so if we do a better work work, and you get positive results.
Ruff also took responsibility from him. He said,
“I remain very confident and I am angry with myself for not doing the job.”
Two years ago, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen looked like a NHL 1 goalkeeper of the NHL and he obtained a long-term contract. This season, he has regressed a bit and now the position is again a huge question mark. Adams said he always “a ton of self -confidence”. Adams said the young goalkeepers had a lot of ups and downs. He also said,
“We will see everything. If we think there is an opportunity to upgrade and improve our team in any position, we will be open to this, so I certainly not be afraid to enter the season with` `Upl ” and Devon because I believe in both.”
Adams and Ruff said that the team had let Luukkonen fall and had to play better in front of him. Ruff said,
“I believe in” upl “. Until I have the team cleaned to clean some of the poor Puck, it will be difficult for any goalkeeper. »»
Owen Power needed a veteran to get his back and play next to him since he entered the NHL. Adams knows that he failed in this direction,
“I don’t think I have done a job well enough to help Owen in terms of guys who is there on the ice with him in every match during his first years. I couldn’t get this good person.
“It would be great to get a TIR-Star right-wing defender who could be next to him for the coming years, but it doesn’t always work like that, so we’re going to look at him, but just understand what this mixture is, that’s something we have to look at and do a better job this summer.”
It was 53 minutes of dialogue on Saturday, but Adams knows that it comes down to one thing,
“We must win, we know that, I know, the players know it, it is the only thing that will really matter at the end of the day.”
Sabers can sign Alex Tuch to a contract extension after July 1. Adams said it would be a priority.
When I asked questions about Bo byram’s signature to a long -term contract, Adams said it was a difficult question to answer, but it would be open to anything.
