Jack Quaid, best known for his starring role in Amazon’s “The Boys,” says he’s “inclined to agree” with those who call him “baby nepo.”

The actor – whose parents are movie stars Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid – made the comments in a podcast interview with The Daily Beast earlier this week.

“I mean, no matter what I do, people are going to draw attention to it,” he said of the “baby nepo” label.

“Some people have called me ‘baby nepo.’ I tend to agree. I’m an extremely privileged person, I was able to get representation quite early, and that’s more than half the battle.”

“I knew the door was open for me in a lot of ways, which is not the case for a lot of actors,” he said of his journey, adding that he tried to “work as hard as I could to prove that I deserved to walk through that door.”

Quaid’s father has previously noted that his son wants to make his own way without the help of his parents.

“My agent wanted to represent him and he said, ‘No, I want to do it myself,’” the elder Quaid explained during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in 2020.

“And then, of course, he gets his own agent and his first movie is called The Hunger Games.”

Quaid made his acting debut as Marvel, a District 1 tribute, in the first “Hunger Games” film, released in 2012.

His mother, Ryan, also addressed the “baby nepo” narrative in an interview with Glamour magazine last year. “Jack is truly talented. He’s more talented than I’ll ever be,” she said of her son. “This whole ‘baby nepo’ thing is a complete disregard for his work ethic, his gifts, and his sensitivity to the idea of his privilege.”

The podcast asked Quaid if he ever considered following in the footsteps of his mother, known for romantic comedy classics “When Harry Met Sally,” “Sleepless in Seattle” and “You’ve Got Mail.”

“My mother is the undisputed queen of romantic comedies,” Quaid said. “I can’t just step into that space, it has to be right. It has to be something that’s different enough from what she’s done.”
