LOS ANGELES (WJW) – Actor Nick Pasqual has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times.
According to a press release from Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, Pasqual allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend multiple times on May 23 after breaking into her Los Angeles home around 4:30 a.m.
According to the release, the victim had recently filed a restraining order against the 34-year-old actor. After being stabbed, the victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.
“My thoughts and sincere sympathies go out to the victim of this horrific incident,” Gascón said. “Our office, including our Office of Victim Services, is providing support and resources as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from the physical and emotional trauma inflicted on her. This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the person responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.
According to the press release, an arrest warrant was issued for Pasqual on May 24. He reportedly fled the scene of the stabbing and was arrested at a U.S.-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.
Pasqual is charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary in the presence of a person and one count of injury to a spouse, common-law partner, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or parent of a child, according to the press release.
Pasqual will be extradited to Los Angeles County where he will face charges for this crime. No arraignment date has yet been set, according to the release.
An arrest warrant was issued by the court in the amount of $1,075,000. If convicted as charged, Pasqual faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the release.
