During its overwhelming appearance Thursday with Pat McAfee, the quarter-Arrière Aaron Rodgers said a lot. Some elders (he loves to reassess the deceased equines), some new ones.
Along the way, Rodgers admitted that he had spoken with a few teams. Although he refuses to provide the full list, it was clear that Rodgers spoke to a trio of teams – the Giants, the Vikings and the Steelers.
And although he insists that there were false stories on some of the teams he was linked to (for a guy who claims to ignore anything about him, he seems to know everything that is said), these are the three teams to which he was most clearly linked.
Rodger said that he had spoken to the coach of the Giants Brian Daboll, calling him a “beautiful football spirit”. He said he spoke to the Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, an old friend. And Rodgers confirmed (even if the confirmation was not necessary) that he had visited the Steelers.
Rodgers said he ”
(Yes, they did it. They told Gerry Dulac to PITTSBURGH Post-Gazettehere we go.)
Rodgers said he was very impressed by coach Mike Tomlin. Rodgers also met GM Omar Khan, the attacking coordinator Arthur Smith and the quarter of the quarter Tom Arth during his day in Pittsburgh.
“I wanted to see what it was there, see the establishment,” said Rodgers, adding that he wanted an “extract” and an “overview” of what it would be.
Rodgers said there was no deadline with the Steelers. “If you need to do something, by all means (do it),” Rodgers told Steelers.
“I try to be open to everything and I am not specifically attached to anything with regard to this decision,” he said. “I don’t want anyone hostage.”
He added that he had been “in advance” from the start and that he “crosses a lot in my personal life which must take a precedent at this stage”. He said that when he signs with a team, it must be an all-in commitment “and that he is not ready to do it for the moment.
Through all this, Rodgers has flashed periodic irritation on speculation that has emerged.
“I have no sources,” said Rodgers towards the end of the segment. “I have no people who push stories. I speak for myself. And it was nice to be silent in recent months. It’s funny how in this period how the story of shit is going crazy, right? When I didn’t say a fucking word. So there is nothing to say. Money compromises my name.
On the one hand, everyone should respect that there are personal problems that delay their next step. On the other hand, how difficult it would have been to go out for weeks ago? This would have avoided rumors and the very relationships on which he complains now.
It would have been simple. It would have been easy. And that would have answered many questions which, in the absence of Rodgers, did anything, has become the subject of rampant speculation.
It is difficult not to think that this is exactly what he wanted. To see what would happen if he didn’t do anything about the conversation. And then, at the right time, spreading your grievances concerning the things that have been said in the absence of rodgers saying anything. (And about the shit of five years ago.)
Finally, there is really nothing more to say. Until he says something else. Or except and until the Steelers slam the door on the possibility of signing it.
