For the second time this offseason, Aaron Rodgers speaks. This time, he said much less about football than in Pat McAfee’s show in mid-April. Rodgers joined Joe Rogan and his Podcast Joe Rogan Experience for an episode broadcast on Wednesday. Their three -hour discussion did not mention the Pittsburgh steelers or the future of the NFL of Rodgers. But he offered a small clue in one of the personal problems that could prevent Rodgers from deciding on his plans in 2025.
At the two -hour and 47 -minute brand in the interview in a discussion with Rogan on medicine, Rodgers shared that he had close friends fighting serious illnesses.
“I understood this in the past year when I have been in the weeds with these people who are close to me who have cancer,” said Rogan to the Rogan recording studio in Texas.
The conversation has gone from there with Rodgers criticizing those who reject unconventional treatment methods, saying that he knows people who have been “searched” and have been confronted with “prosecution”.
Rogan did not follow if these are some of the reasons why Rodgers has not yet made a decision on his future of the NFL. In the interview with Rodgers with McAfee, he said that a key reason for his delay was for personal reasons.
“I am in a serious relationship,” Rodgers told McAfee on April 17. “I have things out of the field that requires my attention. I have personal commitments that I made. I have a few people in my inner circle that really fights in January.
Speculations swirled at Kentucky Derby when Aaron Rodgers was seen wearing a ring, suggesting that he got engaged or married. His comments on the McAfee show conforms to what he said to Rogan. And although there may be several personal reasons for its delay, as well as Rodgers being a free agent who has no current obligation towards any team, it seems that friends who fight cancer are an explanation of the personal problems that Rodgers deals with.
Recent reports from local and national journalists indicate that the Steelers remain in contact with Rodgers and believe that he will sign with Pittsburgh. However, there was no clarity on what these news could come. Some in the Pittsburgh building would not believe that this counts when Rodgers signs.
Pittsburgh begins its OTA sessions on May 27. Volunteer anyway and with Rodgers not under contract, he has no obligation to attend. The compulsory mini-stelers takes place from June 10 to 12. There has been an increasing belief that a decision will come soon and Pittsburgh probably wants to know the future of Rodgers before spring training. Maybe Rodgers will announce something shortly.
But on the basis of the interview, he offered no clue for a calendar and only a brief window on what he treated which caused a two -month wait (and to count).
