Palm Beach, Florida – After two years of overhaul generated by Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets make a concerted effort to refuse the volume now that the future Hall of Famer has disappeared.
“It’s by design,” said first -year coach Aaron Glenn Monday morning during the annual League meeting. “Listen, I’m a great supporter to just move in silence and let things play as they need to play.”
The words seemed strange coming from an official of the jets, taking into account the penchant of the franchise for the movements of the spishy offseason which fueled high expectations, but Glenn tries to rebuild the culture with an old and silent approach is-Golden.
To this end, the jets have made only one acquisition which has repercussions – the quarter -Arrière Justin Fields, who had no introductory press conference. Overall, they made 14 acquisitions, most of which are not announced players who have signed modest contracts. They too have been prohibited for the media.
“It doesn’t need to be a big hoopla of what we do,” said Glenn. “We just want to do our activities and train these players and try to create an atmosphere for players who are totally different from what they were used to.”
The decision to release Rodgers, of course, changed the story surrounding the jets. The polarizing quarter attracted unprecedented media coverage during his two seasons in New York, partially discovering his weekly appearances of “The Pat McAfee Show”.
The jets caught the attention by replacing themselves as a super Bowl suitors. The results were bitterly disappointing because they stumbled in their eighth and ninth consecutive consecutive seasons.
For their first important decision, Glenn and the first managing director Darren Mougey announced their intention to release Rodgers last month. Glenn has never given a precise reason to separate from the Quadruple MVP. On Monday, he said that it had nothing to do with the character larger than life of Rodgers.
“Whatever the person has nothing to do with me,” said Glenn. “I know what I want to do, so it doesn’t matter to me. No matter.”
Those who know Glenn, a disciple of Bill Parcels, say that he wants to create a culture based on a team -oriented approach, not the one that revolves around a superstar. His philosophy shone when he asked him questions about the fields. When asked what had attracted him to the fields, the first thing Glenn said was “a quiet confidence”.
Say hello to the silent jets – at least they hoped for it.
“I want to move in silence, guy, and take care of our things to win matches,” said Glenn. “You do not gain off anyway. I mean, I know that everyone has these notes on free agency notes and notes on the notes of the draft. When you go back and look at them, they don’t really mean shit. So, the only thing that makes the difference is what you do during the season.”
Glenn said he would not talk about the playoffs or the Super Bowl at this stage. The jets, mired in a drought in 14 -year -old qualifiers, will not have to worry about huge expectations in 2025. Their total excessive victories is 5.5, according to ESPN Bet.
Fans could remember that former coach Robert Saleh, speaking during the owners of last year, expressed the desire to calm the noise. It didn’t last long. A few weeks later, Rodgers sparked a storm of fire by jumping a compulsory mini-cam on vacation in Egypt.
