The 20 -year -old woman, who was identified as Marah Abu Zuhri, flew to Pisa Wednesday with her mother during a night flight as part of a program set up by the Italian government.
The Pisa University Hospital said it had been a cardiac arrest and died on Friday, less than 48 hours after arriving.
The hospital said that it had suffered a serious weight loss and muscle, while Italian news agencies said it was suffering from serious malnutrition.
