A real identity document is free

Q: Hi Honk: I have questions about the real identity card of the senior. Can it be done online or should you go to the ministry of motor vehicles? Can it be done at the automotive club? What documents do you need to get the card? How much does the senior identity card cost?

–Rogers Jenison, Downey

A: Four questions, Roger? You will get your money here in Honkland.

Isn’t that everyone?

To obtain a real identity document for the first time, you must access a DMV office with the required documents, although you can start the online process, and you will probably have to start if you move the real ID from your license to an identity card emitted by the State.

No, the Southern California automotive club does not manage driver license tasks.

The documents required to obtain a real identity document, at least here in the Golden State: proof of identity, say a passport or a birth certificate; Two items showing where you live, a bank statement and a public service bill will work; And often proof of your social security number. Deeper answers can be found on DMV.CA.GOV.

And for those who are at least 62 years of cardboard on their bodies, that the identifier of the elderly, with or without the powers of the real identity document, is free (a driving license is not, regardless of the age of the holder).

They are valid for more than seven years.

Q: I do not know if it was reported before, but I received an SMS on April 16 supposedly from Fastrak saying that I had an unpaid bill for toll use. It looks like a website in the bay region, but when I looked for it online, then I called a real number 800, it turns out to be a ruse looking for people to pay when the real website says they never send SMS! Need to educate people about it.

– Tom Dawkins, Anaheim

A: Do.

The horn received them – the first you get is disturbing, because you lean towards believing it.

(Some toll agencies can send text messages; the Fastrak system is used by many of them.)

If you are concerned, connect to your account to check or do what Tom has done-find a real number online for the agency and give it a jingle.

Honkin update: A few weeks ago Jeanne glass Long Beach asked what happened to her disabled license plates if she sells her car. After checking with the DMV, Honk told her that they stayed with her, unlike the standard plates that go with the car. Honk asked the DMV more information, and here it is: the new owner of the car must wait for the vehicle to have plates before driving it, said Katarine snowA DMV spokesperson, adding that going to a DMV office could speed up the process. It costs the holder of the disabled plates to transfer them.

Honkin fact: The bicycle on our hero is when he strikes a sidewalk and rolls on a lawn in front of the children and says: “I wanted to do it” is on the auction block. Van Eaton Galleries manages the call for tenders which includes one of the 14 bikes used in the “great adventure of Pee-Wee” by Paul Reubens Describing the wonderful Pee-Wee Herman In the 1985 film. The auction house provides an offer of $ 30,000 to double that of the bicycle during its event from May 3 to 4.
