A radar image of a speed offender captured in the center of Switzerland last month revealed that the culprit was not only a duck, but probably a “repeat offender,” the local authorities said.
Police in the city of Koniz, near the capital Bern, was amazed when it went through radar images that broke on April 13 to discover that a collavert was one of the people taken in the speed trap, the municipality said on its Facebook page during the weekend.
The duck was caught 52 kilometers per hour (32 MPH) in a 30 km area, said the post, with a quick poultry photo.

The story, reported for the first time by the newspaper Berner Zeitung on Monday, became even stranger.
It turned out that a similar duck was captured by stealing in the same place at the same speed, exactly the same date seven years earlier, said the Facebook post. The authorities described the duck as a “notorious and repeat runner”.
The municipality said it had examined if everything might not be a late April Fool’s joke or a “false” photo.
But the police inspection said it was impossible as a doctor of the images or to manipulate the radar system.
Computers are calibrated and tested each year by the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) in Switzerland, and the photos taken are sealed, explained the municipality.
Facebook publication concluded: “We hope you appreciate reflecting on curious coincidences, animal criminal activities and the maximum flight speed of ducks.”
