A new Rocky spinoff about Ivan Drago has been announced, but Sylvester Stallone blasts ‘dumb vultures’ behind it and says he’s lost respect for Dolph Lundgren in deleted post

Sylvester Stallone reacted angrily on social media after learning that a new Rocky spin-off about Ivan Drago was in the works.

It was reported over the weekend that producer Irwin Winkler was planning a new film in which Stallone’s good friend Dolph Lundgren would reprise his role as Drago.

Stallone is furious with the situation

Stallone didn’t take the news well, posting a few since-deleted Instagram posts.

“Another heartbreak,” her first post began.

“I’ve only just found out… ONCE AGAIN, IRWIN WINKLER, this 94 year old PATHETIC PRODUCER and HIS MORONIC VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles and David, are once again selecting THE BONES of another wonderful character that I created without even telling me.

“I apologize to the FANS, I never meant for the ROCKY characters to be taken advantage of by these pests.

“By the way, I used to have nothing but respect for Dolph but he NEVER told me what was going on behind my back with the character I created for him!!!

“TRUE FRIENDS are more valuable than gold.”

Ivan Drago was knocked out on Christmas Day 1985 by Rocky Balboa in Rocky IV

He later added in a separate post, for which the image depicted Winkler as a vampire draining Rocky Balboa’s blood: “WINKLER and FAMILY SUCK ROCKY DRY!”

“Presumed to be Hollywood’s most hated, talentless, decrepit producer and his cowardly children have found their next meal…Draco?

“Throughout history so many artists in every industry, from recording, painting, writing, etc. have been destroyed by these bloodsuckers who have destroyed so many families, se lining other people’s pockets #parasitic producers #exploited artists victims.

Both posts have since been deleted.

Lundgren downplayed the flaw

Responding to the original post, Lundgren posted his own message.

It read, “Just to set the record straight regarding a possible Drago spin-off.

“There’s no script approved, no deals in place, no director and I personally felt like my friend Sly Stallone was involved as a producer or even as an actor.

“There was a leak in the press last week, which is unfortunate.

“In touch with Mr. Balboa – just so all the fans can relax… There you go.”
