A new collection of Harper Lee’s writing is coming later this year: NPR

Harper Lee, the acclaimed author who once professed his dream of being the “Jane Austen in the south of Alabama”, was known for restraint when it was a question of sharing work.

Throughout the 89 years of Lee, she only published two novels. Now, a new collection of its stories and essays will be added posthumously to this shelf.

Three things to know:

1. The collection, called The Land of Sweet Forever: Stories and Essays, will be published by HarperCollins in October and includes eight news that a young Lee wrote before focusing on his beloved To kill a mocking bird.
2. The stories extend from Alabama to New York and cover themes such as politics, equality, art and the South American.
3. According to the press release, Lescriptants were discovered in New York apartment in New York after his death in 2016.
