It’s the cry heard around the world – or at least around the neighborhood, when a mother of three got the scare of her life after seeing a “scary clown” out of the corner of her eye.
Sadly, the New Jersey woman who was part of the hilarious viral video in 2022 has died after losing her battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Cheryl Granito, of Denville, was a teacher and died last month at the age of 44, leaving behind three young daughters, Harper, 12, Kayla, 7, and Ellie, 4. She is also survived by her husband, 56 years old. Mark, 1 year old.
The curly-haired redhead seen in the clip, which has been viewed more than 500 million times, is now trying to raise money for the grieving family, with nearly $40,000 generated so far in a GoFundMe.
“I’m the man who comes to get him something. I donated $4,000 to the GoFundMe myself. His famous cry spread joy around the world,” Brayden Krupiarz, 20, told DailyMail.com.

Cheryl Granito, the woman featured in a viral video capturing a mother’s startling scream at the sight of a “scary clown”, has died of breast cancer at the age of 44.
A second GoFundMe was already created by the family in March and raised $56,000.
The video became so popular that Krupiarz even created an Instagram account dedicated to the encounter, with the nickname “driveway.dude”.
The original video begins innocently enough with Granito talking to a neighbor alongside another woman and one of her children.
She seems calm and relaxed on a calm summer day when, suddenly, Krupiarz can be seen walking up the aisle towards her.
Granito became known for her loud scream after she was alarmed by the presence of 20-year-old Brayden Krupiarz, who could be seen walking down an alley behind her.
Granito let out an almighty scream which served to frighten those around him.

Granito was so absorbed in the conversation that she didn’t notice the young man walking silently behind her.
The aisle camera captures her long, curly red hair and mirrored sunglasses.
What could have been an innocent look was dismissed as a “creepy clown” by Granito who lets out a piercing scream that lasts for several seconds.
This cry, in turn, also alarms his children who back away in fear.

Krupiarz can be heard apologizing, explaining that he had only come to get something. It appears that one of his packages had been delivered to his address.
The video still gets laughs even years after it was first posted online.
“This video makes me cough with laughter every time! I saved it a LONG time ago so I can watch it again when I need a laugh!’ wrote Wendy Angela.

Cheryl Granito, who worked as a special education teacher at Lakeview Elementary School, was diagnosed with cancer in 2019.
After her death, Krupiarz wrote on his page: “I am extremely saddened to tell you that the woman with the cry heard around the world has passed away.
