Washington’s capital met the Caroline Hurricanes on Wednesday evening for the first two games of the two teams in the next eight days.
Sean Walker opened the scoring, converting a bad turnover from Jakob Chychrun. Jackson Blake and Seth Jarvis have doubled on the goals of power to give the Hurricanes a three -way lead after 20 minutes.
Logan Stankuven added Carolina’s advance in the second before Alex Ovechkin scored the 892nd goal of his career to obtain the capital on the board. Blake marked his second start to the third.
Hurricane beaten the capitals 5-1.
- Not much good to say about the opening frame. The Hurricanes blitzé the capital as they did all the teams in the League. Carolina is absolutely relentless, and playing them in the second half of a back to back should be all kinds of funny steps. However, a large part of their offense came from bad individual errors in the caps, and this was a tendency recently.
- The decision to play Ryan Leonard In consecutive games, seems to be a good one, since he seemed to be the only capital player who went in the right direction of the first period. Although this is very impressive for a 20 -year recruit that plays in its second career match, it is an embarrassing equal part for the rest of the team.
- Do I go crazy, or it seems that the NHL plans the capital to play Hurricanes without rest almost all the other games they play against each other? We legitimately have the impression that we are still talking about a tired caps team going to Caroline after playing the day before.
- Capitals played much better in the second period. Unfortunately, going down three goals in the first will just make a difficult route against any team, not to mention one as good as hurricanes. Really good to see them answer. I just want they don’t have to answer.
- Logan Thompson only lasted one period, granting three goals on 12 shots. He did not take the fold for the second, being replaced by Charlie Lindgren. Capitals say that Thompson has undergone an upper body injury.
- Alex Ovechkin scored his 892nd career goal 19:25 in the second period with the capital on an advantage of five against three. It is only two goals of the attachment of Wayne Gretzky for the record of goals of all time of the NHL and three goals of the only possession. OVI now has 39 goals in 59 games this season, a rate of 54 goals on a full calendar of 82 games.
- Anthony Beauvillier Played only 4:28 of ice time for two periods. I would not be surprised if he gets out of the program for Taylor Raddysh Back to DC.
- Capitals were very frustrated by hurricanes and referees in the third. The civil servants took advantage of each opportunity to give the caps an additional minor penalty. Tom Wilson, Brandon Duhaime, Nic Dowd and Connor McMichael all received the first showers for their part in some of the difficult festivities that followed. Again, these two teams are playing again next week.
- Really not a fan of this dismantling of Jalen Chatfield On McMichael. Do not place the gloves, then do this.
- The penalty killer has absolutely collapsed. Carolina put three goals of power game on the board with their six opportunities.
- Gary Bettman was during the game. Probably there to watch Ovi during this pursuit, but also to make sure that the capital is planned to play Hurricanes without rest in each match for the rest of eternity.
Capitals will come home now for an appointment with Connor Bedard and Chicago’s Blackhawks on April 4. We are on Super Alex Ovechkin Watch now.
