The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a large -scale Ukrainian drone attack in the early hours of Wednesday, April 9, saying that 158 drones were killed in Russian territory and the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula.
One of the probable targets was the Mozdok military aerodrome, in northern Ossetia. While the head of the region said there were no victims or damage following the strike, the Télégramme Astra channel published a photo that would have been taken near the local culture house, located about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) of the aerodrome.

Northern Ossetie Head Sergey Menyaylo said: “A drone attack was postponed in the Mozdok district. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 15 drones were destroyed by air defense systems.” He insisted that there was “neither victim nor destruction”, while adding that a “diet of drones” is in force in northern Ossetie.
The Mozdok air base, which would have been targeted, is used by Russia to launch strategic bombers Tupolev and MIG-31K combers (NATO: “Foxhound”) involved in missile strikes against Ukraine.
Additional Ukrainian drones would have targeted a military aerodrome in the Orenburg region in Russia, according to the acting governor Yevgeny SolntSev. He said all drones had been killed by air defense systems, without victims or damage. Astra reported that the strike was aimed at the “Orenburg-2” air base. Currently, the Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the incident.

The Russian offensive in Kharkiv, Sumy already underway, says Syrsky
Despite current talks to end the war on a large scale, Russia has doubled the attacks and Ukraine sees the growing intensity of Russia’s offensive actions, explains General Syrsky.
Ukrainian drones would have targeted the Penza region of Russia during the night, in particular the district of Serdobsky, where there is a major missile and artillery deposit.
According to Penza’s regional governor, two drones were killed by air defense systems around 9:00 p.m., he said there were no visible victims or damage.
The open source data suggests that the district hosts the military arsenal of unit 58661-90 (formerly unit 83368), which stores rocket and artillery equipment. Although the exact objective is not confirmed, it is likely that this deposit was one of the objectives of the attack.
This same ammunition deposit was already attacked in October from last year, when a fire broke out on the site, as reported by the Astra exit. Serdobsk is located about 700 kilometers (435 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Meanwhile, Russian telegrams citing local residents have reported multiple explosions in several colonies in the Rostov region, with damaged roofs in residential areas. The Ukrainian part has not yet officially responded to the attack on Russian territory.
