An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hit the sea of Marmara off the coast of Turkey on Wednesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The USGS said the tremors had taken place at around 13 miles off the coastal city of Marmara ereğlisi, about 67 miles from Istanbul, the country’s commercial capital and the largest city.
The service added that the Temblor struck at a depth of 6.2 miles. No damage had been reported when writing the editorial’s moment, although the residents of Istanbul said that the aftershocks continued to shake the city by 16 million.
