Garnacho celebrated by kissing the badge in front of Manchester City fans at Wembley and this appeared to anger his compatriot and teammate Martinez.

The defender roped Garnacho and put him back in position and the fans loved him showing his leadership.

One fan wrote: “Loved seeing Martinez push Garnacho away after celebrating!!! Back in focus!!!”

Another said: “Lisandro Martinez grabs Garnacho by the collar after scoring into an empty net following an assist from an opponent… Mentality.”

This fan said: “I love the way Martinez knocked Garnacho back down to earth. It’s not over.”

A fourth put: “The best thing about the goal Martinez asks Garnacho to crack. A good leader.”!

Moments later, Kobbie Mainoo doubled the lead, sending United fans into pandemonium, including seeing two teenagers from their academy step up and score at Wembley.

It is the first time two teenagers have scored in an FA Cup final, with the two 19-year-olds being the first United teenagers to score in a final since Norman Whiteside in 1983.

Jeremy Doku pulled one back but United won 2-1 to surprise their local rivals.

United have sorely missed Martinez at the back, who has only played 11 times in the Premier League this season due to injury.

He has only just returned from injury, having played a total of 66 minutes in the last two matches against Newcastle and Brighton.

But Erik ten Hag trusted the World Cup winner to start on Saturday and it proved to be an excellent decision, with City stifled by the defender fans affectionately call ‘the butcher’.

United went on to win the FA Cup, beating City 2-1, with Jeremy Doku’s late goal ultimately only a consolation.
