A call tight earlier this month at Laguardia airport in New York between two commercial jets is the subject of an investigation, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed on Monday.
The incident is one of the many close calls, accidents of the recovery and aviation that have caused calls for changes in plane trips to the United States and increased public anxiety around theft.
On May 6 around 12:35 pm, an air traffic controller canceled the customs clearance for American Eagle Flight 4736, operated by Republic Airways, because United Airlines Flight 2657 was in taxi on the same track, said FAA.
“Brickyard 4736 stop,” shouted the tower controller, using the Republic Airways Calling Signal.
“Rejected Retoroff Runway 13,” replied the pilot to the audio recorded by the Liveatc.net website.
“Sorry for that, I thought United had succeeded before that,” replied the controller.
The United flight, operating on a Boeing 737-800, arrived at the Intercontinental Airport in George Bush that evening and transported 107 passengers and six crew members, the airline announced on Monday.
The planes were almost a quarter of a distance when the flight of the Republic hit the brakes, according to an analysis of the Flightradar24 follow -up site.
The FAA also said on Monday that it was investigating another radio breakdown to the installation of control of the air traffic approach responsible for flights which approached and left the international airport near Newark Liberty.
The tight call and the breakdown, the last of a series of failures that have taken place in recent weeks, occurs just before the summer travel season.
The installation of approach control of the Newark terminal radar, also known as Philadelphia Tracon Area C, experienced a radio break for about two seconds around 11:35 am on Monday, said the FAA.
The problems of the Philadelphia Tracon C region went beyond New Jersey airport and have revealed a serious problem in the FAA outdated air traffic control system.
Despite the challenges, officials of the Ministry of Transport always say that the system is safe.
