Removal and other crimes in Jalisco

In September 2024, US officials published a travel notice for Jalisco’s State, urging travelers to “reconsider travel due to crime and kidnapping”.

“Violent crimes and gang activities are common in some parts of the state of Jalisco,” said the US State Department. “In Guadalajara, territorial battles between criminal groups take place in tourist areas.
