Doha: The Indian Javelin launcher Star Neeraj Chopra will have the company of three other compatriots in the doha leg of the prestigious meeting of the Diamond League on May 16, because the country will have a maximum representation in a DL event.
Chopra, who won the title here in 2023 (88.67 m) and finished second in 2024 (88.36 m), will be joined by Kishore Jena in the male javelin throw. Jena also participated in 2024 and finished ninth with a 76.31 m throw.
The starry field in the male javelin throw will have the double world champion and bronze winner of the Paris Olympic Games Anderson Peters of Granada, winner of 2024, Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, Julian Weber and Max Dehnoh of Germany, Julius Yego of Kenya and Roderick Genki Dean.
The other two Indians of the melee are the holder of the National Record Gulveer Singh, who made his Diamond League debut, in the 5000m male and the Chaudhary by the 3000m Steeple of feminine.
CHAPHARY is the holder of the national record in the 3000m steeplechase of 3000m female.
