“Each weekend was difficult after these little girls,” Michelle told Oprah in February 2020. “We had to worry about the games they were going to, if there was alcohol, I had to know who the parents were, so every weekend for me was difficult.”
It was however towards the end of their time there. When they arrived at the White House, the first lady wondered how she was going to do their new palatial residence, with butler wearing tuxedos, many of them black and Latinos, feel at home.
