Pakistan says 3 air bases targeted by Indian missiles

The armed forces of Pakistan said on Saturday that three air bases had been the target of Indian missile attacks, including one near the army’s siege on the outskirts of the capital, Islamabad.

A military spokesman said that the majority of Indian missiles had been intercepted by Pakistani air defense systems and that those who have succeeded did not achieve their objectives.

“India, with its bare assault, attacked with missiles,” said Lieutenant-General Ahmad Sharif in a video broadcast live by Pakistani state television, appointing the air bases of Nur Khan, Murid and Shorkot.

He said that all Pakistan Air Force assets were and said Pakistan had recovered electronic missiles that reveal where they were dismissed.

“Now you are waiting for our response,” he warned.

Nur Khan’s air base in Rawalpindi, where the Pakistani army has its registered office, is about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) of Islamabad.

The tensions between India and Pakistan continue to intensify following the attack on April 22 which saw 26 people, mainly tourists, killed by Islamist activists near the Mountain City of Pahalgam to the cashmere administered by the Indians.

India blamed Pakistan to have supported the activists and launched “the Sindoor operation”, a series of air strikes in Pakistan and the cashmere administered by Pakistan.

Pakistan denies accusations and has launched drone strikes against Indian targets.
