Metallica changed the Stadium Lane for two hours Wednesday evening, approaching the conclusion of its filming of the M72 World Tour with an electric interpretation of “Master of Puppets”, after which the head singer James Hetfield gave the good night the least convincing in the history of the rock show.
“Good night,” he announced, drawing a handful of “noooos” in the crowd.
“I said good night,” he repeated twice more in different microphone stands, the fans present pushing with an even stronger response.
“Do we miss something?” Hetfield asked. “I think we could miss something.”
He followed by the start of a song of appeal and response “Let’s Go, Hokies” three times before Metallica finally launched himself in “Enter Sandman” – the song Signature of the group that Virginia Tech Football adopted as his – in front of the biggest crowd to see a performance in the history of Stade Lane.

He crowned a unique evening, filled with pyrotechnics, in Blacksburg, a 25 -year -old concert taking place, going back to the time when the Hokies synchronized the entrance to his football team outside the stadium of the track at the Hit Smash in 1991 of the group of the group.
The concert was the culmination of years of talks and negotiations, finally finalized in the fall and was seriously in motion when the first semi-camons began to bring supplies to Blacksburg this weekend, transforming the track stadium into a different world with a massive and elaborate scene configuration.

The suicidal trends and Pantera served as opening acts before Metallica stage for her entry shortly before 9 pm, with her customary intro, “it’s a long path to the top (if you want rock ‘n’ roll)” from AC / DC, playing like a collage of photos grazed the videos.
The group was released in an entry “Enter Sandman”, with a pre-recorded introduction to the song which launched the part of the metallica concert while the logos of Virginia Tech flashed on the eight giant towers surrounding the scene.
It was just a teasing, however. Once the group has started to play, it turned into a list of 16 songs which drew from all the parts of its catalog, both old and new, with some selections in the middle of its last album, 72 seasons.
The second half of the whole presented some of the best known successes of the group as “fuel”, “nothing else matters”, “sad but true”, “one” and “Seek & Detrère”.
Throughout the show, Hetfield addressed the crowd, which had a wide range of ages and seemed to be a mixture of proven Metallica fans and these sports equipment by Virginia Tech – with a lot of crossing between the groups.
At one point, Hetfield asked fans to raise their hands if it was their first Metallica show. A large part of the stadium forced.
“What took you so long to you?” He joked. “We are so happy that you are here. We are officially in the Metallica family, right? The only stipulation is that you can never leave. “
Shortly after, the group broke out “entering Sandman” like its closest in a noisy stadium which was always wrapped at the top and produced a seismic sound.

Once finished, all the members of the group gave good nights extended to the crowd, with Lars Ulrich throwing drumsticks and the rest launching guitar choices on the ground level and in the “snake pit”.
Hetfield closed with another thought.
“Can we move here and be the house group?”
