Foxborough, Mass. – Julian Edelman was elected by fans as an insantronized in 2025 at the Patriots’ fame, the team announced on Monday.
Edelman has spent his entire career over 12 years with the Patriots, joining the franchise as a choice of seventh round of Kent State in 2009 and becoming a key cog in three Super Bowl championship teams after having gone from the NFL-wide university quarter.

It was the first year of Edelman’s eligibility at the Patriots’ renown temple, which requires that a player be withdrawn for at least four seasons. A Committee of the Patriots’ Fame of the Patriots made up of media members, former players and coaches, and team staff in teams appointed him a finalist alongside the botter Adam Vinatieri (1996-2005) and the offensive line Logan Mankins (2005-13).
Among the finalists chosen by the Committee of the Patriots’ reputation temple, a vote of fans over several weeks then determined an inducted since the process was instituted in 2007.
“Julian Edelman is one of the great successes in the history of our franchise,” said owner Robert Kraft in a press release. “There are not many players who win a NFL place in a position they have never played before. Julian did not only do this as seventh -tone draft, but he ended his career with the second most important receptions in the history of the franchise (620) and as triple champion of the Super Bowl, including his latest MVP of the Super Bowl.
“No one was no longer attached to his job and perfected his skills than Jules. His explosiveness outside the line, speed in his cuts and his insane after capture made him one of the most difficult players to defend. His clutch captures in our biggest games and global tenacity made him a favorite of fans.”
Edelman posted to X on Monday that he was “honored and grateful”. The message included a video of him calling his father to share the news.

The former trainer of the Patriots, Bill Belichick, had the foresight to project that Edelman – who ended his career as Kent State with 4,997 yards by the pass and 2,664 yards on the ground in 31 games – could go to the receiver and the turnover of clearance in the NFL. This led the Patriots to select it with the choice n ° 232 of the 256 pick recovery in 2009.
Edelman’s transition was not, however, transparent. In his first training camp, he had a hard time catching kits and was hooked by fans at some point.
Edelman was more a niche player in his first four seasons in the NFL – totaling 69 receptions for 714 yards and four affected – before drilling in 2013 with a season of 105 strokes and 1,056 yards as a reference target of the Tom Brady quarter.
His career has taken off from there, with no doubt his biggest game coming in the team’s 34-28 victory over the Falcons of Atlanta in the Super Bowl Li with a sensational hook at the end of the fourth quarter.
The game reflected how Edelman, as Kraft noted, was one of the most engaged artists of the Patriots. He ranks third in the history of the NFL with 118 post-season receptions, behind Travis Kelce (178) and Jerry Rice (151). Its 1,442 post-season reception yards are also classified third of all time, behind Rice (2,245) and Kelce (2,078).
In the victory of the Patriots 13-3 against the Rams of Los Angeles in the Super Bowl Liii, he was appointed MVP after finishing with 10 receptions for 141 yards.
While Edelman is widely considered to be worthy of the honor of the Patriots Hall of Fame, his selection of fans of Vinatieri – who was also in his first year of eligibility after the voting process in 2024 was deposited to integrate Brady – is likely to trigger a debate on obtaining the influence that fans should have in the selection of integrity.
Like Edelman, Vinatieri was one of three Super Bowl championship teams in New England (2001, 2003, 2004) and his “snow bowl” kick in a Division Department victory against raiders on January 19, 2002, is considered by some as the biggest kick in the history of the NFL – a game of many Super Bowls.
Vinatieri, who played for the Indianapolis (2006-199) colts when the Patriots did not offer him a comparable long-term contract after using the franchise label on him during the successive years, was also a finalist for the temple of renown of professional football this year during his first year of admissibility.
Edelman will be joined by former coach Bill Bâlls (1993-1996) as inducted this year at the Patriots’ fame. Kraft used his position as a owner to put plots in the renowned temple as a contributor after being elected a finalist five times.
