More and more companies are starting to warn that they will have to transmit higher costs for American consumers, increasing prices for products such as strollers, mattresses, electrical tools and cast iron kitchen utensils while President Trump’s prices set up.
Some company officials said they had no choice but to increase prices because they pay more to import goods and materials in the United States. Other companies have declared that they will soon be short of inventory for certain products because they have interrupted orders from China.
Trump has upset the global trade system, hitting foreign countries with punishing samples in order to bring manufacturing jobs to the United States and to target what he calls “unjust” business practices. But economic studies have shown that the burden of higher prices is generally based on consumers and national companies.
Although Mr. Trump has reduced certain prices and has arrested others as he pursues trade agreements with foreign nations, the impacts of his policies are already starting to eat in household budgets and frustrating the Americans who have noticed higher prices for their property.
Some large companies have recently warned of imminent price increases.
Stanley Black & Decker said on Wednesday that he increased prices on his outdoor tools and products last month and would increase them again this year. The German sportswear Adidas said this week that higher prices would ultimately lead to higher prices for American customers.
The leaders of Procter & Gamble, which manufactures products such as paper towels and a determination of bonus tide, said last week that the company would most likely increase the prices of certain products to mitigate the effects of higher prices. And Hasbro officials have recently said that the Toyaker should “increase prices”, although it would try to “minimize the burden” of customers.
