Former vice-president Kamala Harris returned to the political scene with a fiery speech on Wednesday evening in which she criticized the first 100 days of the Trump administration.
Harris had a very negative message and often angry in her first speech since she left her duties, even saying: “We see the abandonment roughly” of American ideals in reference to the priorities of President Donald Trump.
“Now, I know that this evening event coincides with 100 days after the inauguration, and I will go to others to give full accounting of what has happened so far,” she said. “But I will say that. Instead of the administration that works to advance the highest ideals in America, we are witnessing the wholesale of these ideals.”
Harris accused Trump of having advanced “a program (of) a narrow and selfish vision of America”, threatening to bring a “constitutional crisis” to the nation.

She accused Trump of having brought the “chaos” to the United States through her pricing policy, accusing her of being responsible for the “greatest artificial economic crisis in modern presidential history”.
But beyond that, Harris said that the Trump administration advanced an intentional vision of undermining American democracy.
“Some people describe what has happened in recent months like absolute chaos, and of course, I understand why, and this is certainly true for these prices,” she said. “But friends, please, don’t let us dive by thinking that everything is chaos.”
She continued: “What we actually witness is a high -speed event. When a ship is used for the rapid implementation of a program that has been manufacturing decades. A program to reduce public education, a government shrinkage program, then to privatize its services, while granting tax breaks to the richest of us.”

“Right now, we are living in their vision of America,” said Harris. “It is an agenda, a narrow and selfish vision of America where they punish the truth, promote the loyalists of their power and each leave to fend for themselves, while abandoning the allies and withdrawing from the world.”
Harris also alluded to the expulsion by the Trump administration from abroad illegal and alleged member of the Gang MS-13 Kilmar Abrego Garcia, saying: “It is not normal to hold and disappear from American citizens or anyone without regular procedure.”
She praised the actions of the Democrats of the Congress Resisting the Trump administration, appointing several legislators, including Senator Chris Van Hollen, D-MD.; Senator Cory Booker, DN.J.; Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT.; And the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dn.y., who she said “all in different ways, spoke with a moral clarity of this moment”.
The former vice-president said that it was inspired by the democrat’s electoral victory during the elections of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin as well as “the courage of the judges to respect the rule of law” and “universities which defying the unconstitutional requirements which threaten the continuation of truth and academic independence”.

Harris continued by saying that “if the congress does not make its part, or if the courts do not make their part, or if the two do their part, but the president challenges them anyway. Well, friends, this is called a constitutional crisis.”

Harris gave his speech during the 20th anniversary gala from Emerge in San Francisco. Emerge, a training organization that seeks to prepare for women democrats to present themselves in the elections, billed $ 25 for viewers to have access to the virtual livestream. Other package options included costs of $ 100 for young professionals and a general admission ticket of $ 250.
The former vice-president did not address rumors that she could consider a race for the governor of California, but she offered her own words of wisdom, referring to a viral video of elephants at the San Diego zoo during a recent earthquake.
“Here, these elephants were. And as soon as they felt the earth tremble under their feet, they cut a circle and stood side by side to protect the most vulnerable,” said Harris, calling him a “powerful metaphor”.
“Because we know that those who try to encourage fear are the most effective when they divide and conquer. When they separate the herd, when they try to make everyone believe that they are alone. But faced with the crisis, the lesson is not, do not disperse,” she said, adding that the people of the United States should lean and connect to each other.
“The instinct must be to find immediately and connect with each other, and to know that the circle will be stronger,” continued Harris. “So I’m going to finish with that. I’m not here this evening to offer all the answers, but I’m here to say that. You are not alone, and we are all in the same role together and directly, things will probably get worse before they improve. But we are ready for that. We are not going to disperse, we will stay together.”
