The quarter of New Orleans, Derek Carr, said that he and the team had been in communication concerning his shoulder injury.
Carr confirmed his injury during a sermon invited to Church LV in Las Vegas during the weekend. It was the first time that Carr spoke of his shoulder because the news of a potential problem was made public on April 11, three days before the start of the saints in phase 1 of their voluntary off -season training program.
Carr criticized ESPN and the media, as well as social media, to speculate on the nature of his injury.
“I have an MRI report to prove it. The team knows, we were in constant communication,” said Carr. “There is nothing wrong, we understand it and we are going to go ahead with that.”
Carr is not in the installation of saints since the start of the off-season program, but said that he and his wife Heather had planned to fly to New Orleans earlier during the offseason. He said Heather had experienced a health problem and had a miscarriage at the time of their planned trip.
“I say all this to say, let’s be people who do not judge and do not emphasize and just think the worst when you don’t really know what people go through, Amen? And therefore, we have taken care of our family. If it will be faith, family, football, it will be faith, family, football, whatever the situation,” said Carr.
Carr confirmation of the injury occurred a few days after the saints resumed the quarter-rear Tyler Shough with their second round choice this year.
The Director General of Saints, Mickey Loomis, said “it will be a competition” during the discussion of the role of Shough, but when he was asked to clarify if this competition would be against a healthy car, Loomis stuck to the status quo.
“Yeah, I mean Derek is the starter,” said Loomis after the NFL draft on Saturday evening.
