The Chinese technology conglomerate Huawei seeks to face the nvidia semiconductive giant with a new advanced chip.
Huawei makes progress by developing his latest Ascend AI GPU, Ascend 910D, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing familiar sources. The company has contacted other Chinese companies to find test partners, reports the Wall Street Journal, and hopes that its chip will compete with the H100 series of Nvidia, which is popular for the formation of AI models.
Development comes only a few weeks after the United States has imposed new export restrictions of certain AI chips to China. If Huawei succeeds, it could help fill a void on the Chinese AI market left by an increase in flea export controls in the United States
Techcrunch has contacted Huawei to comment and update this message if we hear.
