Hostages:
Negotiations can end, at least for the moment. Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official, said Hamas this evening “decided not to consider the proposals that do not include the complete end of the fights”.
Israel will not accept such a proposal, unless it includes the demilitarization of Gaza, including Hamas – so that they cannot lead another attack on Israel.
The FDIs announced that it was preparing for a significant expansion of the war against Hamas in Gaza, to be launched if negotiations with Hamas continue to stall. In this scenario, the FDI will extend operations to new Gaza areas, and a large number of TSAhal reservists will be called to support expansion.
Gaza:
The FDI announced the name of the soldier who fell in battle in Northhen Gaza on Thursday:
Master SGT. (Res.) Asaf Cafri, 26, of Beit Hashmonai
Friday afternoon, a TSAhal commander and an infiltrated policeman fell in battle in northern Gaza:
CPT. Ido Voloch, 21, from Jerusalem
Sgt. Neta Yitzhak Kahane, of the Yamas hidden unit of the border police.
The heroes were killed in a two -hour battle in Shejaiya.
Since the end of the ceasefire on March 18, the FDI has attacked more than 1,800 terrorist targets throughout the Gaza Strip. At least 400 terrorists have been eliminated, including higher level political figures and dozens of intermediate level commanders,
In the last 48 hours, the IAF has struck more than 120 terrorist targets, including military structures, terrorist infrastructure, launch wells, underground targets and terrorist cells.
The IDF continues to operate with three maneuver divisions, using eight brigade combat teams. The teams are working to extend safety buffer zones, eliminating terrorists and locating and destroying weapons, rocket launchers and other Hamas infrastructure.
Division 252 operates in the north of Gaza, developing in the Daraj and Tuffah district of Gaza City. Friday, the FDIs emit a final evacuation warning for the Zeitoun district of Gaza City, before the air strikes.
Division 36 operates in Rafah and in particular in the new Morag corridor.
The Gaza Division (143) operates in the Shabourah and Tel Sultan regions in Rafah.
An FDI reservist was seriously injured in combat in the Tel Sultan district, after being struck by an explosive device followed by light weapons of terrorists. TSAhal troops, including the logistics soldiers who were on supply mission, returned fire. The IAF then made air strikes to try to eliminate the terrorists from the attack. There is no confirmation that they were eliminated.
Kann News reports that the FDI is preparing to open a new controlled humanitarian zone in Rafah. The area will be cut off from the rest of Gaza by the Morag corridor. Gazan Civillians will not be allowed to enter until having passed individual security checks. Terrorists will be kept away. FDI build a tent city and food and medicine will be delivered by a trusted third party, such as an American civilian business.
The Israeli government and the FDI have been preparing for a long time and have a solution to provide food and civilians to civilians in Gaza, without letting Hamas get their hands on it.
In response to journalists’ questions, US President Trump said he was “high pressure” on Israel to bring food and drugs to Gaza.
Judea and Samaria:
The aging president of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Mahmoud Abbas, appointed Hussein Al-Sheikh, as vice-president-and a possible future replacement.
Al-Sheik is also from the Fatah of the Plo and is quite similar to Abbas. He was imprisoned by Israel from 1978 to 1989 for his association with anti-Israeli terrorist groups. He learned Hebrew in Israel, leading him to become the main connection of the affair with the Israeli government of the AP with the Israeli government, then with other world powers.
Yemen:
Around 2:20 a.m. on the shabbat, the sirens were activated in the suburbs Be’er Sheva and int. The FDI intercepted a ballistic missile pulled by the Houthis in Yemen, before entering Israeli airspace. The Houthis claim that they targeted the Névatim air base, east of Be’er Sheva.
Around 9:10 am, the Air Force intercepted an UAV (attack drone) fired by the Houthis, which was on the way to Israel. No mermaid was activated because there was no threat to civilians.
The US Air Force and the Navy continue with heavy attacks against the Houthis.
Iran:
A sudden massive explosion at the port of Iranian Shahid Rajaee in Bandar Abbas killed at least 14 people and injured more than 750, with many missing. The explosion, coming from containers storing dangerous chemicals – including the sodium perchlorate used in missile fuel – used a fire and a shock wave felt up to 50 kilometers. The fire lasted several hours.
The explosion released toxic substances in the air, including ammonia, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide, causing public health urgency.
At least two Chinese ships would have accosted the port in recent months, transporting a sodium perchlorate made in China. Initial surveys on the explosion point to mismanagement or inappropriate storage of the chemical.
Israeli sources have told the media that Israel was not behind the explosion.
Meanwhile, negotiations for a nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States continued today. While the two parties have reported serious discussions and progress, major clashes are received on the surface.
The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi, said that the two parties have shown determination to progress, but “sometimes determination alone is not enough, and that disagreements can be so serious that achieving a result becomes impossible. Some of the disagreements are serious, and some have their own complexities, but we hope that we can go quickly, and the progress so far has been good. I am satisfied with the process and the pace of negotiations. ”.
The Wall Street Journal reports that major disagreements were centered on two numbers:
- America demands that Iran completely abandon its ability to enrich uranium. Iran insists that it will continue to enrich a certain uranium for “civil projects”.
- America wants to include a program to supervise the Iran’s ballistic missile project, which would carry a nuclear bomb, if production is carried out. Iran will not accept to include their missiles in the program.
Other:
Friday morning, the Minister of Defense Israel Katz and the Chief of Staff of the FDI, Lieutenant-General Eyal Zamir, met the head of the United States Centcom, General Michael Kurilla. The Katz office says the meeting focused on “several security and regional questions”.
Last week, three new F-35I fighter planes landed last night at Nevatim air base. They will join the 140th squadron and carry 45 the F-35 fleet of the Israeli Air Force.
In a major policy change, the Doj Trump announced that UNRWA – the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees – has no immunity from American prosecution, opening the door to the victims of Hamas to continue. The DoJ also questioned the very existence of UNRWA, declaring that it is “very doubtful that the Charter of the United Nations even authorizes the General Assembly to create” such an organ, which passes the status of refugee through endless generations. Known to have sheltered from terrorists, the storage of weapons in schools and the teaching of violent anti -Semitism, UNRWA has helped to feed endless conflicts – the collapse of institutions even intended to maintain “never again”.
