David Sacks, the cryptography of the White House, and the close friend of Elon Musk, said on the last Podcast All-in that Musk’s decision to spend less time at the White House office is indicative of his management style in his businesses.
In the Friday episode, Sacks said that Musk simply directs Doge as if he generally directed his other companies, recalling the acquisition of Twitter. Sacks was invited to help Musk buy the social media platform and was a confidence of trust during the transition.
“I have already seen this when I was part of the Twitter transition-it is that during the first three months approximately, it was essentially full-time at Twitter headquarters, learning the company to the level of the database. I mean, every corner and corners of this company, he learned, Sacks said. “Once he felt like he had a mental model and he had in place the people he could trust, he could go to a maintenance mode.”
Musk said on Tesla Ganet Call on Tuesday that he reduced his time to Doge and will focus more on his electric vehicle company. The CEO said he would spend a day or two a week on his government work “as long as he is useful”.
The decision comes after investors and Wall Street analysts pleaded for the Director General to realign his priorities to her business, because Tesla has experienced sales and reactions to the basis of their basic customers.

Sacks said that Musk’s method is how it can simultaneously manage several companies, and the CEO can now go back from Doge.
Musk “has these intense gusts where he focuses on something, gets the right people and the right structure in place, has the impression of understanding it, then he can delegate more,” he said. “And I think he has reached this point with Doge.”
The venture capital has said that Musk does not completely withdraw from his role as government, but rather rations his time in the White House. Musk is limited to 130 days a year as a special employee designated by the government.
“My feeling is that Doge will continue, it’s just that Elon moves to a mode where he can manage it one day a week or two days a week rather than being there five days a week,” he said.
Although Sacks is not known to be a member of the DOGE team, the venture capital has had a personal and commercial relationship of a year which can be traced in their management positions at Paypal. The two are part of what has become later known as Paypal Mafia, which also includes Peter Thiel and Reid Hoffman.
Musk and Sacks did not respond to requests for comments.
