The Miami dolphins have selected the quarter of the Texas Quinn Ewers with the choice n ° 231st in the seventh round on Saturday.
He joined a quarter -depth painting in Miami led by the Starter Tua Tagovailoa and including the Zach Wilson backup.
Ewers went 21-5 as a starter in the past two seasons for Texas, leading the Longhorns to their only two games in university football playoffs.
After being transferred from Ohio State, he launched for 9,128 yards and 68 affected in three seasons with Texas, completing 64.9% of his passes while launching 24 interceptions. He finished the leader of all longhorns time in yards and Touché passes.
His 2024 season was affected by an oblique tear and a high ankle sprain. He said he was completely healthy for only three games in 2024 and that the oblique injury started after Michigan’s match in September. He missed two games and then suffered the ankle injury against Kentucky in November.
“They make a big investment on a guy, and they want to know who they are dealing with,” Ewers said about the NFL teams when he met journalists at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I am an open book on this subject because I think that I am in the end. I would not have the character I have, the mental tenacity that I have, the resilience that I have if I did not do these things.”
Ewers was the global recruit No. 2 in the country, depending on the ESPN rankings, and came out of high school a year earlier in the promotion of 2021 and attended Ohio State for a semester. He was transferred to Texas, which had released a 5-7 season in December.
