Selma Blair has good news on her battle against multiple sclerosis.
The “legally blonde” actress, 55, announced this week that she was “really in remission” of the debilitating disease which she was diagnosed for the first time in 2018.
“I manage incredibly well,” said Blair to people during the 9th annual Los Angeles fashion prize for Daily Row on Thursday, April 24. “I have been feeling good for about a year.”
She added: “But I am finally good enough for really, really – I always try to feel better – but now that I really have endurance and energy and go out and go out is not so frightening.”
Even better, it is that the star of “cruel intentions” “would love” to go back to play now that his MS is in remission.
“It’s funny, I didn’t spend enough time to have dreams,” said one to one at the Beverly Hills hotel in Beverly Hills, California. “And now it’s like, what are my dreams?”
“I think maybe since the diagnosis, you have just been tired all the time,” she continued. “I spent so much from my life so tired of being sick that I think I was just trying to spend the day.”
“And now it’s like, wait,” added Blair, “I realize that I don’t know what my goals are.”
But although his plans for the future are “much more focused on career”, Blair also does not plan to stop “defending people with chronic illness” after his fight with MS.
“But now I always plead for people with a chronic disease and I am improving, and what it looks like when you have not made your wishes,” she said. “How do we give ourselves a new vital force?”
The writer “Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up” also said that she “would like to write a book for young adults” now that she had a new lease on life.
Blair participated in the Fashion Awards event in Beverly Hills on Thursday to hand over the creator Betsey Johnson with a life price of completion. She congratulated Johnson and described the famous creator of “icon” and her “spiritual animal”.
“Betsey was my icon when I was a child. Of course, we love Chanel or Cacharel, but Betsey for young people was our seam that could be feasible,” said the actress of “Hellboy”.
“But also, Betsey has always been a good time,” continued Blair. “I remember doing cart wheels on the track, and it was my spiritual animal.”
Blair announced for the first time its diagnosis of MS in August 2018 in an emotional Instagram publication.
“I have (multiple sclerosis). I am in an exacerbation, ”she revealed at the time. “By the grace of the Lord, and Will Power and the producers of understanding Netflix, I have a job. Wonderful work. “
“I am disabled. I sometimes fall. I drop things down. My memory is misty. And my left side requires instructions from a broken GPS, “she continued. “But we do it. And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do precisely, but I will do my best. ”
She previously talked about her battle with autoimmune disease, and how she affects the central nervous system during a wild interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in February.
