Joe McGuire could not resist giving a playful blow in his Ohio d’Ohio teammates before meeting US President Donald Trump.
“It was an immense honor, most of the team’s guys are Trump fans that I am kidding,,” Joe told News Corp.
“I give them a little in the locker room, saying how these prices are for you.
The son of the Grand Eddie McGuire delivered his cheeky message as he joined his Buckeyes teammates at the White House to celebrate their victory in the national championship.
Joe is now a boastful of his famous father, having entered the oval office – something that Eddie has never done.
Joe and his teammates not only met President Trump, but they also received commemorative medals for their championship triumph.

The 24-year-old Australian bettor was part of the Ohio State Buckeyes team that beat Notre Dame 34-23 to win the national university football title.
Joe’s trip to American football started during the cocovated pandemic after a friend suggested that he try Prokick Australia.
“One of my friends came to me in Covid and said you had a decent leg, why don’t you try this thing called Prokick Australia,” said Joe.
From there, he forced his way in one of the biggest university football programs in the United States.
He joined his Australian compatriot Nick Mclarty on the list of buckeyes, giving the team a unique Australian flavor.
The Ohio State obtained the national title in front of 77,660 fans at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta.
Joe was called to action at the end of the fourth quarter, making the ball of 51 yards on the line of 10 yards of Notre-Dame.
He also held the ball calmly for a crucial basket that helped win the Ohio State victory.

Although he only played a small role on the field, McGuire proudly collected his championship ring.
Having grown up in Melbourne, Joe played Australian rules and crickets, with many assuming that he would follow his father’s AFL traces.
However, Joe chose a different path, determined to remove his own identity from the considerable shadow of Eddie.
“What the world is right now, everything I have done in Melbourne, there will be people who say you have done this only because of your father,” he said.
“It’s just one thing that does not matter that your father or something else. You have to put the work and you have to be quite good.
Eddie McGuire could not hide his pride in the achievements of her son abroad.
“It was very impressive to see a young child embarking on this kind of weird dream,” said Eddie.
“He literally left zero, and now he plays in front of 100,000 each week.”

In January 2025, Eddie visited Joe at Ohio State, proudly posing with her son on the football field.
Dressed in a black puffy jacket and jeans, Eddie was standing alongside Joe, who wore his red jersey 42.
The father-son moment has captured their close link and his brilliant future of Joe to come.
Now in his second year in Ohio State, Joe’s images are firmly fenced to reach the NFL.
“This is definitely the ultimate goal,” he said.
“I certainly have a long way to go before looking at this. I am still three years old at university here before looking at this.
Joe’s university career reflects that of other Australians who have transitioned to American football via Prokick Australia.
In the match for the national title, Joe’s companion, James Rendell, bordered Notre Dame, presenting the growing impact of Australia on American university football.
McGuire and Rendel hope to continue their travels in the NFL once their university days are over.
The game was watched by millions in the world, with the NBA LeBron James superstar among the celebrities on the sidelines.
