The Browns select RB Quinshon Judkins with the 36th choice in total in the draft of the NFL 2025.
“He brings the football brand we want, AFC North”, said Glenn Cook, deputy managing director and vice-president of players’ staff. “Exceptionally strong, physical, hard and productive in three Down. I know that (Running Backs coach) Duce (Staley) is extremely excited. “
Judkins spent the first two seasons of his collegial career in Ole Miss, where he totaled 545 races for 2,725 yards on the ground and 31 affected. In addition, he also had 37 receptions for 281 reception yards and three affected. During his first year in 2022, Judkins led the dry with 274 races, 1,567 yards on the ground and 16 affected on the ground.
He was then transferred to Ohio State for the 2024 season, where he recorded 194 races for 1,060 yards on the ground and 14 affected. He also added 22 receptions for 161 reception yards and two affected.
“I feel like me, it was a positive for me,” said Judkins about playing in dry and big ten. “The simple fact of playing in the two most difficult conferences of university football and playing in two different environments where I have the impression that the dry also has a different style of play from that of Big Ten, they are simply too different. But having the opportunity to play in both helped me to excel and advance my career and be better as a player.”
Judkins joins a back room which includes Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. adding depth to the position – in particular with RB Nick Chubb which strikes a free agency at the start of the new year of League – offers the possibility of restoring their racing game in the offense. During the 2024 season, the Browns were on average 94.6 ground yards per game, ranked 29th in the league. With the addition of a young player like Judkins, the Browns can use their backs to their advantage and establish the racing game.
“Who I am as a player-physicality, vision, insaissivity, the ability to be used outside the plated and be in the slit and also be headless with the seconds,” said Judkins. “And that is why I have the impression that this is what I am as a player. This is why I have the impression of adapting myself so well in this offense. And it is such a good situation for me because it is the offensive in which I excel because these are the things that I bring to the game. The passion too, and the grain that you cannot train. So that’s what I am really impatient for this year.”
