Thomas said that she had had the time of her life visiting Pakistan in June 2024.
“You would not believe the places I made for myself,” she said, recalling hiking glaciers and camping in solitude under the mountains more than 22,000 feet high.
The country has many magnificent landscapes, and Thomas mainly recommends hiking from the fairy meadows at the Nanga Parbat base camp, the ninth highest mountain in the world.
She also suggests that travelers go to the Rakaposhi base camp and stay at the Hapakun campsite for a view of the glaciers. They can also drive the Karakoram highway, one of the most paved roads in the world that are surrounded by views of the mountain.
If you are a thrill seeker, visit Skardu, where you can drive motorcycles, paraglide, ride a horse or make safaris in the desert.
She also recommends spending a night in the Karimabad mountain village, which offers accommodation in stores and local markets with handmade goods.
History enthusiasts should also visit the emblematic UNESCO of Lahore sites, such as the Mosque de Lahore Fort Citadel and Badshahi.
