A pursuit of the Los Angeles police ended dramatically on Friday afternoon with SWAT team members using armored vehicles to put themselves in the suspect’s truck, then breaking the windows and throwing gas cartridges to coat the driver.
The driver, an unidentified woman, was arrested after 12:30 p.m. while TV News Helicopters disseminated the general costs live.
The incident video has shown that the members of the Swat team break the back of the truck and the driver’s side windows with a metal post, then use the post to drop gas cartridges inside the truck cabin to try to force the driver to go out.
After the first doses of gas, the woman kicked a passenger door with her naked foot and appeared briefly, before closing the door and staying inside the truck.
A third gas cartridge seemed to do the trick, the woman leaving the vehicle where she was met by about half a dozen police officers.
The incident took place in the aisle of a house near the intersection of Coldwater Canyon avenue and Clawson placed about half a thousand south of the Harvard Westlake School.
The police had interrupted traffic in and around school and neighborhood for more than two hours.
According to KTLA, the pursuit started around 9:30 am near the Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street when the truck hit a fire mouth, then fled the police.
Along the way, the police attempted a pit manue to deactivate the truck and finally set up, with several flat tires, in front of the house in the studio city.
