The day after the selection of the defensive line player Mykel Williams, the director general of the 49ers, John Lynch, told journalists that the club was to sweat a few moments before going to No. 11.
Lynch even noted that San Francisco had tried to exchange, but this effort failed.
However, the 49ers were able to obtain the player they wanted.
“The film is very impressive,” said Lynch, via the team’s transcription. “Mykel is a great beautiful child in every way. He’s tall, he’s tall, he’s long, he’s a great athlete, he’s hard, he is intelligent, he is versatile. He can play outside, he can play inside. During a 30 -year -old visit and really had an idea of the child.
“And I just think that all of this led us to this guy as a niner. He corresponds to who we are, our culture, and we jumped when he was there.”
Lynch added that he thought Williams has a lot of rise.
“His skills set is a guy who can rush with power, he is a fairly good athlete where he has a little maneuver,” said Lynch. “He is extremely competent, I think, when they perform matches. For this great athlete, I think he is a very good stop-starting. Sometimes these guys can go, but it’s difficult when a quarterrier approaches, they cannot change direction. I think he can do it very well. But we are excited with him.”
Williams was a selection of twice the second All-Sec team in Georgia, recording 21.0 bags with 21.5 plated for defeat in 40 games with the program.
