- Tom Trbojevic to come back for Manly this weekend
- Released for three weeks with a knee complaint
- The career has been overshadowed by constant injuries
Sea Anthony Seibold Eagles coach raised her eyebrows after comparing Greg Inglis to Tom Trbojevic, while the rear subject to injuries is preparing to come back against Penrith this weekend.
Fighting to inspire Manly from their current funk, Seibold says he had a short time to consider Jamal Fogarty’s probable arrival as replacement by Daly Cherry-Evans in Halfback next season.
The current club of Fogarty, Canberra, conceded Thursday that they are unable to match the EA Eagles offer of what would be a contract of $ 2.1 million over three years from 2026.
But the absolute priority of Seibold this week was to avoid the first sequence of four defeats of Manly since the fallout from the Jersey Rainbow 2022 saga, without finalizing the Fogarty agreement.
“Recruitment and retention and these types of things have not been at the forefront,” said Seibold.
“Respectfully, I will not comment on potential targets or potential players from other clubs.”

Seibold led Greg Inglis to South Sydney to the twilight of his career decorated in 2018
Trbojevic is about to invigorate slow sea eagles after a three -week layoff with a knee number, his last in a long list of injuries.
Manly lost the three games in her absence, two of their Home Brookvale Oval fortress with storm and dragons.
Articulation of the importance of the return of Trbojevic, Seibold referred to the hero of South Sydney by South Sydney in 2014 Inglis, which he led during his 2018 season at Rabbitohs.
“There are players that I have trained over the years that when they are in your locker room, it just gives you confidence. Greg Inglis was one of those guys, “said Seibold.
‘Turbo is another. He has this physical presence, he is an excellent communicator.
“It is not only the actions in the field, it is the communication outside the scope and the confidence it brings.
“But just because we have the turbo, that does not mean that we are going to win … We all have individually and collectively need to do our job.”
Despite his well -documented injury difficulties – Trbojevic did not play 20 games in one of the last six NNR seasons – the rear has returned to advanced physical condition for the match on Saturday at the Commbank stadium.
“If we didn’t think he was ready to play, we will not play it,” said Seibold.
“He succeeded in each test, he did the work of the full week.”
Seibold expressed his frustrations with the LNR programming after last week’s defeat against St George Illawarra, who was the club’s third match in 11 days which also presented a trip to Perth.
Before this week, Manly had not experienced a 13 opposite session for a month due to their demanding travel schedule and their rapid reversal.
“This week, we had a nine -day turnaround, we gave a refreshment to the guys, we had a complete training of the week. There is no excuse ” said Seibold.
