And it’s an envelope.
After 112 episodes in the air, ABC Connecs said for viewers and Roseanne Barr for good. And they did it by going to Roseanne’s tomb.
Entitled “The truck stops here”, the last episode of the show concludes the scenarios of the Conner family, giving viewers as much as possible. Jackie (Laure Metcalf) becomes a cop. Becky (Lacy Goranson) is sober. Harris (Emma Kenney) gets an apartment and leaves the family home. Meanwhile, Darlene (Sara Gilbert) finds a new job. And Dan (John Goodman) finally gives his deposit in the family’s trial against the pharmaceutical company which makes the opioids which made his deceased wife, Roseanne (Barr), to an accidentally overdose.
Despite the preparation of Dan, the deposit will not quite plan. During the meeting, the lawyer for the company states that Roseanne had an “addictive personality” and implies that Dan should have done more to prevent his overdose – a questioning line that is not suitable for the Patriarch Conner.

“If you say what I think you say, it may be the last thing you say, you son of a B —-. I told her that she could overdose,” said Dan, furious.
He then continues, stressing that the company has never informed people of the addictive quality of drugs, arguing that his death is a consequence of their negligence.
“Even if I took every penny that you had, it would not be enough, because you took the love of my life and you killed her, the same as you put a gun from him,” he said. “The only difference is that you gave him the weapon and told him that he was not busy.”
Viewers learned Roseanne’s death in the very first episode of the series. Initially, Connecs was a renewal of RoseanneA sitcom on a family of working class living in Illinois, broadcast on the network from 1988 to 1997. However, it was canceled after the network dismissed the program star, Roseanne Barr, after a racist tweet that she published on X. Then, the network decided to command a fallout, and that’s how Connecs came.
In an interview with Deadline, executive producers Bruce Rasmussen, Dave Caplan and Bruce Helford said that the last episode of the show was still going to have a tribute to Barr.
“There were mentions from the start. We have never moved away from that. The family loved their matriarch. For the final, we felt that it was fair to honor the character and to honor Roseanne herself, who was born of the show. It was important to do this part of the end,” said Helford.
The tribute is in the form of a scene where the family gathers around the tombstone of Roseanne to open the envelope with what they believe to be a huge settlement check for the pharmaceutical company. Unfortunately, the check is only $ 700 – not quite the big payment they were waiting for. The check also came with a letter in which the company informs in that money is a “tribute to its unshakable commitment” to its late wife.
Disappointed, the family decides to put the money wisely by ordering food at home. Before leaving the cemetery, they each take a tour saying in Roseanne how they go.
“Hey, mom, I’m still sober. Can you believe it? Becky said proudly.
Darlene told her mother that she was doing “what I thought you would do for the family”. Meanwhile, Jackie informs her little sister that she has finally become a cop.
“I’m really happy now,” she shares.

At the end of the episode, the Conners family gathered for the last time in the emblematic beaten sofa of the show. Then Dan gives a last speech, for well-being.
“Browse all this reminds me that no matter how much life is it, all that we have to do is look around, because if we hang on together, nothing can stop us.”
Although the storks did not obtain the big payment they hoped, the show always allows us to know that they are doing very well. After all, they will always be done.
