The son of the former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas, was placed in an induced coma after having crushed his Tesla, in several reports.
Alijah Arenas, 18, was involved in the serious accident Thursday morning, according to Shams Charania d’Espn.
TMZ later reported that Alijah had crushed his Tesla Cybertruck, the car would have been “mutilated” on the side of a residential road in Los Angeles.
Emergency workers would have arrived at the scene at 4:55 am, with the front of the car on fire.
The fire service had initially responded to a call for “trapped patient”, according to TMZ, although Alijah is outside the vehicle when the authorities arrived.
It is not clear if there were others in the cybertruck with him, and if so, how much.
Alijah is a five-star basketball prospect committed to playing the USC next season.

He played in the All-American match of McDonald’s earlier this month on April 1.
Arenas, 43, has not yet discussed the incident.
The former star of the Wizards, nicknamed “Agent Zero”, was a triple star for Washington when he has an average of 25 points per match in 357 games for the franchise.
Previously, he had been appointed the most improved player in the League for the 2002-03 season when he was with the Warriors.
