The next Final Fantasy ensemble is already the best -selling Magic: the gathering Exit from all time, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks revealed Thursday in an investor Hasbro call.
As it has not yet been published, we assume that this means that the sales of pre -orders have been so strong to go beyond the total income of each set of MTG before.
Cocks revealed maybe shocking, speaking about the future of magic, during the Conference Translating on the results of Hasbro 2025 on April 24. “Final Fantasy will be the best-selling set of all time on the first day. It is already,” he said.
The high prices of these pre -orders, which opened in February, will undoubtedly have helped MTG Final Fantasy to break this record. Despite being standard, the Final Fantasy products sell at costs normally associated with premium products such as horizons or masters of masters
While earlier this week, fans were amused that the Beyond universes were dealing with Marvel forced sorcerers to create reskins only on the arena of an entire whole, the CEO of Hasbro was extremely enthusiastic about UB during the call.
“It is very clear for us that the universes beyond as a strategy have increased the total active installation base of magic players, both in terms of fans of slowdown and bringing new fans,” said cocks.
According to Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast – and Magic: The Gathering in particular – has surpassed expectations for the first quarter of 2025, with MTG revenues up 45% in annual shift. And it looks like the effectiveness of the universes beyond bringing fans that are both old and new is a large part.
When they were asked for the main reason why Magic had done better than expected in this quarter, cocks listed a number of factors, old sets selling better than expected, at the high performance of Tarkir Dragonstorm, in Secret Lair. “It is difficult to identify only one thing. Really what we see is an expansion of the players’ base,” he said.
With many industries in turmoil at the moment due to American prices on China, Hasbro seems to count on wizards to help him resist the storm. Cocks said Hasbro has “more than one stamp than the typical toy company” due to domestic or digital parts of the company and that “the momentum in the sorcerers provides a strategic stamp while we sail on wider cost pressure”.
For years, sorcerers of the coast and digital games have been the only sections of the company who have experienced good growth, and since Hasbro declared in the call that 50% of its toys come from China, this seems to be unlikely to change.
