Penn Badgley said he had almost stopped acting at 20 because he was tired that Hollywood had already spent eight years in industry as a child actor.
Leaving Wednesday in an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Badgley said that he had started his career as a professional actress at the age of 12 and became financially independent at 15.
He said that when he was offered the role of Dan Humphrey in “Gossip Girl”, he did not want to go back to television.
“At the age of 20, I really felt disillusioned and dried and tired of being in Hollywood and acting,” said Badgley. “When you are 20 years old and you have been doing something professionally since you are 12 years old, it’s your life.”
“I had fatigue about my subject at 20 who, I think, is not typical for a 20-year-old man because I have been working for so long,” he added later.
Badgley told the Podcast: “I was not always the support of the countryside, but I always needed to support my parents.”

The average worker had symptoms of professional exhaustion earlier and earlier. However, the entertainment industry is one of the only careers where children can start working from an early age.
Badgley, who began his career as a star “The Young and the Restless”, said he was planning to pivot music, but finally decided to play the role of “Gossip Girl” for financial reasons.
“I was close to Broke, even if I was looking forward to understanding this,” said Badgley. “I appreciated my lifestyle, but the future was really unknown, and it is not as if I could live with my parents. The issues were high.”

“Gossip Girl” was an instant success and became one of the most popular teenage dramas of the 2000s, launching Badgley and his Costars to glory.
Since then, Badgley has appeared in several films and series, including “You”, one of the main shows of Netflix, which begins its last season on Thursday.
Badgley, who is now 38, said on the podcast that he felt that he “finally arrives in adulthood as an actor”.
