This is Prince Louis’ seventh anniversary – and his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, celebrate with their traditional birthday portrait, and even an additional little love for their youngest child.
On April 23, the Prince and the Princess of Pays de Wales dropped a new portrait of their family of their family of five, taken outside by photographer Josh Shinner, who previously photographed William, Kate, Louis, and her older brothers and sisters, Prince George and Princess Charlotte for their family Christmas card in 2023. Birthday portraits of her children, but not the first time than a photographer other than she took the annual photo of her children.
Keeping in accordance with the recent love of William and Kate for outside videos – think of Kate’s September 9 video, announcing that she had finished chemotherapy and subsequent videos that showed her in nature, as a earlier this month with scouts – the Prince and Princess of Wales have published a traditional portrait video. The video has shown that Louis’ toothless smile on the test, while the newly struck 7 -year -old lost his two front teeth between his last public appearance on December 25, 2024 – when the royal family frequented the church on Christmas day, as they traditionally do – so far.
In the short clip, Louis – always wearing jeans, the collar shirt and the sweater he sported in his birthday portrait – rejoices outside, leans near the camera, walks in nature, jumps from a log and poses for the camera. At one point, Louis slowly increases his shoulders while his photo session continues and says what seems to be: “Can I jump here?” while speaking to the photographer. The exuberant and playful spirit of Louis – which has been such an antidote over the years for some of the dark moments with which the Royals have been confronted in the recent past – is obvious by letting his personality shine. “Seven today!” The video was subtitled.
From an early age, Mom Kate said that Louis “keeps us on our guard” – and he did not stop. The cheeky hijinks of Louis on many royal occasions – from the balcony of the palace of Buckingham to Troping the Color to the late Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Pageant at the coronation of King Charles and so many other staples in the Royal Journal – Humor, Levity and a large dose of pleasure. And, although Kate has already said that Louis was the child who looks like him the most, it is difficult to deny his resemblance to a young William too!

Lou Bug – As gently calls it – is growing up quickly, said Kate (by The mirror). “I continue to think that Louis is a baby, but he is a big boy now,” she said, adding that it was “like yesterday” when Louis was actually a baby after his birth in 2018.
“Being the youngest is often a privilege,” said the former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond. “You get out of it much more, and you are a little special as a latestborn. Catherine probably allows Louis to unleash more than she did with George. She and William are very experienced parents, and I am sure they like the three children in an equal way, but probably in different ways. George because he is the firstborn and has the youngest to accomplish, Charlotte because she is the only girl because she’s young.”
Louis also has a close relationship with his grandfather, whom he calls “grandfather”: “He clearly loves his grandfather and is not at all impressed by the fact that he is the king,” added Bond. “I think Charles cherishes every moment he can spend with children, and it is perhaps one of the reasons why he spends more time in Windsor these days. I’m sure Louis likes his grandfather to be read and tell him stories, and he will undoubtedly be spoiled on his birthday. ”

Louis’ birthday on April 23 fell on the last day before George, Charlotte and Louis returned to school after their Easter break, he will therefore have time to play, open gifts and spend time with his family.
“Louis has won the hearts of many people with his antics,” added Bond. “I prefer to see a cheeky chappie that a child was impeccably behaved.”
