In several weeks, the Santa Ana police service received multiple mistreatment of alleged animals and missing cats.
Alejandro Oliveros Acosta, 45, of Santa Ana, was arrested on Wednesday and reserved for the prison of the city of Santa Ana for crime of accusations related to cruelty to animals, the authorities announced.
Yessenia Aspeitia, media relations coordinator for the Santa Ana police service, said those responsible could not provide the exact number of cats that the suspect would have injured, but he exceeds a dozen.
The authorities allege that Acosta has been positively identified by several victims and witnesses as the man who attracted their cats far from home.
Santa Ana and Westminster police officers, as well as the Santa Ani animal control division, rummaged through Acosta’s home in the West Wilshire Avenue 2300 on Wednesday morning and placed it in police custody. Aspeitia said the ministry could not provide any additional information on the evidence collected at home.
Investigators are currently assembling an alleged incident calendar, said Aspeitia. Managers bring together local social media groups for stolen or missing cat accounts to integrate alongside formal reports made in the department in several weeks.
In recent weeks, cat owners have shared photos on social networks from their missing cats and home security images showing a man attracting them away from home.
Among them, Eva Corlew de Westminster, who posted that her 10 -month -old Bengal Lynx cat, clubber, had been stolen in his alley in March. Clubber finally found Corlew, according to the Westminster police service.
Aspeitia confirmed that Acosta was the subject of an investigation concerning the removal of Clubber.
