Dave Portnoy briefly took off the curtain of his romantic life this week – almost 12 months after him and the friend of Gal Camryn of Aloia made waves for the first time.
During a recent appearance on the podcast “Drop A Pin”, the founder of Barstool Sports referred to his romance with D’Aloia while he was thinking about the painful boat incident last summer in Nantucket, where he and his mother had to be rescued by the American coast guard because his ship was without electricity.
“I thought of jumping (the boat) at some point,” said Portnoy.
When the host of the Podcast said: “But was your mother there too?” Portnoy, 48, then spoke of Aloia.
“No, originally, it was myself and Cam, the girl with whom I go out. I said to myself:” You have to go down and tell someone, I have no communication. “So, before we went too far, plunged and returned home and called the master of the port,” he said.
The frightening event occurred in July 2024, three months after Portnoy and d’Aloia appeared for the first time on a television broadcast of match 4 of the eliminatory series of the Celtics against The Heat on April 29.
The buzzing vision naturally sparked the headlines, which Portnoy approached a few days later on the “BFFS” podcast.
“A set of very unhappy circumstances, I would say that,” he said. “Because … Well, I’m always sensitive to the fact that I am six months, five and a half months of a relationship, so being seen at an appointment or with a girl, that was not what I was trying to do.”
Portnoy was previously involved with influencer Silvana Mojica. Before their rupture in 2023, they participated in sporting events together, including the Celtic games.
On the “BFFS” podcast, Portnoy detailed that he had bought another set of tickets to escape the spotlight after his cameo with a Aloia.
“So we take out the F-K from there. I bought two tickets in real time in different seats and I moved only three rows with my back and away. We did not want to be in front of the camera,” he said.
Before his relations with D’Aloia and Mojica, Portnoy and separated amicably from the wife Renee in 2017. They initially married in 2009.
