They now plan to use these evidence to argue the innocence of Mudramk while waiting for the results of the B sample. If the B-Sample is also positive, the footballer could face a long ban.
The Mudryk polygraph test was confirmed by its former director general of the Shakhtar Donetsk club, Sergei Palkin, in an interview with Givemesport. “I have spoken to Mudryk several times since this doping problem arose. He does not understand how it could have happened. He has no idea. No idea at all. His lawyers organized to do a lie detector test, that he was successful. It will be part of the evidence showing that he had not intentionally hurt,” said Palkin.
“Mudryk was clear, it is not his fault if he was tested positive. We must now discover how it happened and that did this. His lawyers are trying to discover it. There is always no result of the B sampling, so it remains open.
Palkin also revealed that Mudryk remaining out of action will result in financial losses for Shakhtar.
“It should be protected. Shakhtar also has a direct interest. There are bonuses from his move to Chelsea linked to his performance. If he does not play, that causes us problems because we could potentially lose 30 million euros. So Shakhtar, Chelsea and Mudryk, we are in one boat.
All this while Mudryk maintained innocence and ignorance in the case of doping. If he fails the doping file, he will be suspended for four years.
Chelsea spent $ 88 million ($ 110 million) to buy Mudryk in 2023.
