The SB Nation 2025 SB writers simulation project takes place two laps this year, so in case you have missed what I have done for the Bears in Chicago so far, here is what I have done.
While everyone tried to exchange in the first round, I was the first Mock GM to conclude an agreement. I sent the tenth choice in total to the Broncos for their first round in 2025 (20th in total), their choice of second round in 2025 (51st), and a choice of fifth round in 2026, then I selected the left tackle of Ohio State Josh Simmons at 20. Denver “won” the trade by a few points Jimmy Johnson, while I had a slight advantage on the Rich Hill Trade Chart.
I stayed in the trenches at 39 with the defensive winger Nic Scourton of Texas A&M.
You can make up for the first round here, and here is how the second round started.
33. Cleveland Browns: Jalen Milroe, Qb, Alabama
34. Minnesota Vikings (via giants): Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
35. Tennessee Titans, JT Tuimoloau, Edge, Ohio State
36. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
37. Raiders de Las Vegas: Shavon Revel, CB, Caroline East
38. New England Patriots: Mason Taylor, Te, LSU
39. Chicago Bears: Nic Scourton, de, Texas A&M
40. New Orleans Holy: Josh Conly Jr., Ot, Oregon
With the 41st choice in the draft of the SB nation SB of 2025, the Chicago Bears Select … Alfred Collins, Tackle defensive, Texas.
My intention was to go back here, but with Collins always on the board, I had to take the 6’6 ”, 332 pounds, in particular with a second additional round (51) that I picked up in my job.
The defense of the Chicago race took a safe blow last year when Andrew Billings was injured, so more beef at the front would greatly contribute to stabilizing the middle of the line.
Collins is more a stepper at this stage of its development, but its length and its strength led me to believe that it will be able to push the pocket and ultimately perfect a rush plan towards the effective passes.
There is nothing like a hope not to be missed, but it is really difficult to imagine that a team was writing Alfred Collins and its race defense does not improve immediately. Guy throws blocks as if he was pulling weeds in the courtyard pic.twitter.com/4hwlccloyx
