Roy Keane joked that Kevin de Bruyne should join Manchester United in summer for a particular reason after the midfielder refused to exclude in the Premier League.
Addressing the media written on Saturday evening, by Bruyne revealed that he had been shocked and surprised when he was informed by the director of football of the city, Txiki Begiristain and CEO, Ferran Soriano, during a brief meeting that his contract would not be renewed. Pep Guardiola was involved in the decision but was not part of the meeting where De Bruyne was informed.
“There was a little (shock),” admitted Bruyne. “I had no offer from them throughout the year and the club made a decision. Obviously, I was a little surprised but I have to accept it. Honestly, I always think that I can play at this level as I show, but I understand that clubs must make decisions, “added the Belgian.
“I am open to anything (then) because I have to look at the whole image. I look at sporting reasons, the family and everything together and what makes the most meaning for me and my family. I always feel like I can play at a good level, but after I have to make a decision once I really know a little more.
There have been suggestions in the benefits since De Bruyne could therefore remain in the elite, after being linked to the MLS and the Saudi Pro League.
It would be difficult for most fans to imagine the playmaker in another Premier League shirt in his post-city career, but this is now a realistic possibility. The former captain of United Keane, on the other hand, looks at a movement.
