A mysterious new “Star Wars” series is at the start of the development of the co-showrunner “lost” Carlton Cuse and his son, Nick Cuse, Variety confirmed.
There is practically no other detail available on the show, such as the characters he will understand, when it will take place in the chronology “Star Wars” or which actors will be thrown.
Cuse is not the first former “lost” to go to a galaxy far, far. JJ Abrams, co-creator of science fiction classic, produced “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” of 2015 and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” of 2019.
And Damon Lindelof, the Cuse on “Lost” co-showrunner, was hired to co-write a film with Justin Britt-Gibson centered on the character of Daisy Ridley, Rey. However, Lindelof said in 2023 that he was “invited to leave” the universe “Star Wars”, and he and Britt-Gibson were replaced as writers by the creator of “Peaky Blinders” Steven Knight. Knight finally left the project, which is still in development with the writer George Nolfi and the director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Also in development is a new “Star Wars” trilogy by writer Simon Kinberg and a film with Taika Waititi attached to Direct. During the “Star Wars” event in Tokyo last week, Lucasfilm confirmed the next film “Star Wars: Starfighter”, directed by Helmer Levy from “Deadpool & Wolverine” and with Ryan Gosling.
After “Lost”, Carlton Cuse continued to develop “Bates Motel” while he served simultaneously as a showrunner on the drama “The Strain”. More recently, he worked on “Jack Ryan by Tom Clancy”, “Locke & Key” and “Pulse”, the first dramatic Netflix medical procedure series. The young Cuse is a writer and producer whose credits include “The Leftovers”, “Watchmen” and “Station Eleven”. This marks the first project of dad and sons together.
