A delta plane caught fire on the Tarmac at Orlando International Airport on Monday morning, forcing the frightened passengers to evacuate the jet via the slides.
The Delta flight, which headed for Atlanta, in Georgia, had left its door around 11:15 a.m. where one of the engines of the plane caught fire, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
A video of the plane published on social networks shows flames and smoke coming from the rear of the airplane engine. The staff on the track helped use the passengers of the plane, as seen in the later video.
Those aboard the plane, including 282 passengers, 10 on -board agents and two pilots, were evacuated and taken to the airport terminal.
The fire was contained and extinguished, confirmed the FAA. No injury has been reported.
“The Delta flight teams followed procedures to evacuate the passenger cabin when flames in the exhaust pipe of one of the two engines of the aircraft were observed,” the airline said in a statement.
Delta added that the maintenance team would examine the plane to understand what initially caused the fire, ABC News reported.
The last emergency evacuation comes after several high -level incidents involving planes in American airports.
