David Norman, 66, from Northampton, crashed into another car on November 1, 2022 after having been a cardiac arrest while he was driving, putting his life in immediate danger.
Fortunately for David, he was saved by the supporter of Reading, the reading supporter, who had attended the match outside his team against Luton Town in Kenilworth Road.
She said, “I reached him, I defeated his seat belt and with the help of another public member, I pulled him from the car and started the RCR.
The emergency services quickly arrived and took over, providing shocks to help restart David’s heart which would prove to be vital to save his life.
However, Pippa, who was with her father and fiancée, returned home by fearing the worst because she was not aware of David’s state after being taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, she received the best news as possible after asking her colleagues fans for an update on David, who came thanks to a member of the emergency staff who was on the scene at the time.
Admitting to be overwhelmed by emotion to the good news, Pippa said: “Fortunately, one of the paramedical paramedics saw my tweet and sent me a message to say that he was alive and I just cried.”
David said: “She saved my life, it’s as simple as that, so probably the best friend I have, you can’t really get a best friend.”

“When I heard that this lady, a fan of the opposition, had saved me, I thought:” Wow “and she was determined by the club to contact me.
“If I had clearly recalled that someone had done so much to save my life, I hope I would have pushed to know who it was.
“I don’t think I am aware of that when I was told that Pippa was trying to contact me, but the whole story came out of there.”
David being from Northampton and Pippa being passionate about reading, the couple agreed to meet each other when the Royals played the cobblers.
